Holland College Human Resource Management program receives accreditation

Holland College's one-year Human Resource Management certificate program has received accreditation from the provincial branch of the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources Canada.

The accreditation enables graduates of the program to apply to waive writing the CPHR National Knowledge Exam, the first step in the path to a Chartered Professional in Human Resources designation, a nationally recognized level of achievement in the human resources field.

Craig Dauphinee, program manager for business studies at Holland College, said the accreditation marks a milestone in the Human Resource Management program.

This is the first time the CPHR PEI has allowed graduates of a certificate program to potentially qualify for the exam exemption. We’re extremely proud that CPHR PEI has recognized the quality and rigor of our certificate program with this accreditation. The program’s faculty have worked hard to ensure that the content delivered in this program remains current and relevant, and we hope our students and alumni will take advantage of the many benefits this partnership brings, he said.

Partnerships like this will contribute to the growth of HR in PEI all the while raising its profile, demonstrating value, and advancing the profession.

The Human Resource Management program helps students become effective Human Resources team members in the private sector, public sector, unionized or non-unionized workplaces.
