Holland College's one-year Human Resource Management certificate program has received accreditation from the provincial branch of the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources Canada.
The accreditation enables graduates of the program to apply to waive writing the CPHR National Knowledge Exam, the first step in the path to a Chartered Professional in Human Resources designation, a nationally recognized level of achievement in the human resources field.

York University’s food accelerator program is the first of its kind in Ontario to help Canadian business owners with products in the market scale up rapidly, giving them a much-needed jumpstart in a food industry challenged during the COVID-19 pandemic. Isabelle Lam and Jamie Lee are co-founders of Remix, one of eight companies in York University's food accelerator program. The York Region Food and Beverage Accelerator Program kicks off this month with eight companies – six of them led by women. Participation in the program is also diverse, with six of the companies led by visible minorities. The program is led by York’s YSpace, a Markham-based community innovation hub designed to bring together entrepreneurs and community builders, and is a partnership with The Regional Municipality of York and the Canadian Agricultural Partnership, a federal-provincial-territorial initiative.
Conestoga College has obtained $340K from the Government of Ontario to support a new Resident Home Assistant program. The program will assist unemployed workers in the Kitchener-Waterloo region to shift into vital, entry-level positions in health and long-term care environments.
The University of Regina’s Levene Graduate School of Business and the Canadian Police College have signed a Transfer Credit Agreement to establish a block transfer credit for candidates who have completed the Canadian Police College Executive Development in Policing Program. The agreement will see URegina provide eligible applicants admitted to one of the Levene programs.
The Star reports that the federal immigration department has announced that international students will not be permitted to enter Canada if they have accepted a student visa after the border lockdown on March 18th. Those who enter Canada will have to demonstrate that their travel is “non-discretionary or non-optional,” meaning that online studies are not an alternative for students.
